Pisgah
Pisgah. A unique name for a truly unique place.
Set in woodland with a burn running through the site we’ve spent over two years designing the project, which we hope reflects the character and qualities of the site.
Drawing on the site’s history as a sawmill for Kippendavie Estate, the design process was strongly influenced by the desire to respect the existing building groups and to open up the original stone entrance. Material selection was driven by the woodland setting and the existing buildings.
The result is two large private family houses, built in stone and slate, with painted timber and zinc roofed extensions. These were designed to anchor the houses into the woodland setting.
It would be great to say ‘come and look for yourself’, but both of these houses have already gone to good homes and will be ready by early next year.
Nevertheless, we thought it would be of interest to exhibit the designs and models we built as part of the overall process.
Feel free to have a look and let us know what you think. We’re looking at other similar projects in Dunblane which we’ll post on the web in time.
