Funny, isn't it? When we buy our homes - our biggest single possession - it's that indefinable 'feel' that makes us decide this is the one, this is the place.
And 'feel' is something that doesn't just happen. It is the result of extensive research, trialling, models, building samples and experimenting. Hard work.Time consuming. Expensive. But worth it.
Because what really inspires us is working with traditional materials - such as stone, timber, slate and metals - to create modern homes and spaces which respond to and fit within the landscape.
We draw our inspiration from a wide range of sources. The stone bothy set in an expansive landscape. The secluded timber-clad boathouse on the edge of a loch. The clean lines and openplan flow of a Jacobsen villa. Or the profiled roof of a Glenn Murcutt house.
It's about creating contemporary country homes that respond to the landscape - and to the ways we live today.
